Terms and Conditions

1. The Competition:

1.1 Entrants are invited to submit a Christmas version of the Love Basingstoke logo (“Artwork”) for the chance to win a prize in the Christmas Logo Competition (“the Competition”).

1.2 The Competition is operated by Love Basingstoke with the support of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council of Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH (“the Promoter”).

1.3 Your entry into this Competition shall constitute your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and your agreement to be bound by them. These Terms and Conditions take effect immediately upon your entry to the Competition.

2. The Artwork:

2.1 The Artwork should take the blank Love Basingstoke logo and be given a Christmas make over.

2.2 The Artwork should be subject to these terms:
i. Entries must be provided on the Entry Form which has a blank version of the Love Basingstoke logo on.
ii. Designs must be bold so that it can be seen when scanned.
iii. The Artwork must be original and must not infringe the rights of third parties, including copyright, trademark, trade secrets, privacy, publicity, personal or proprietary rights.

2.3 Participants can submit the original hard copy Artwork or a digital version.

3. Who can enter?

3.1 The Competition is open to all UK residents aged five and over, free of charge.

3.2 Applicants under 18 must get consent from a parent or legal guardian before entering the Competition. The parent or legal guardian of applicants under 18 agrees to these Terms and Conditions on behalf of the applicants.

3.3 One entry per person

4. How to enter?

4.1 The Competition will run from 5.00pm on 14 November 2025 (the "Opening Date") to 4.00pm on 26 November 2025 (the "Closing Date") inclusive.

4.2 All Competition entries must be received by Economy and Culture, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH by 4.00pm on 26 November 2025. All Competition entries received after the Closing Date will not be judged.

4.3 To enter the Competition, entrants can:
i. post their Artwork in the post box at Festive Friday;
ii. Send their Artwork: By post or hand delivered to: Economy and Culture, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH; or
iii. By email to: hello@lovebasingstoke.co.uk.

4.4 Once submitted, Artwork cannot be returned and remains the property of Love Basingstoke

4.5 Love Basingstoke will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.

4.6 On entry Participants will be required to provide: name, age (if under 18), email addresses along with contact information for the entrant’s parent or guardian if under 18.

4.7 By entering the Competition, you grant a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, and worldwide right and licence to the Promoter to use your Artwork on the Love Basingstoke website, in promotional activity and on Love Basingstoke social media.

5. The prize

5.1 The first prize (winner) will win a Crayola Imagination Art Case, Christmas Wooden Craft Stick Set, Foil Art and Colour your own Christmas cards, and have their logo used on the Love Basingstoke social media pages during December.

5.2 There is no cash alternative and prizes are not transferable.

6. Winners

6.1 The judges shall assess the entries and one winner will be selected by 28 November 2025.

6.2 The judges’ decisions shall be final.

6.3 The winner will be contacted via email by the Promoter within one week of the Closing Date to allow for judging. The email address on the entry form will be used.

6.4 The Promoter will publish the winner’s full name and a picture of the Artwork on the Love Basingstoke Facebook page once the winner has been contacted.

6.5 No correspondence regarding the results will be entered into.

7. Claiming the prize

7.1 The winner will be contacted via email.

7.2 The winner will have 14 days from the date of being contacted to claim the prize by personally attending the offices of the Promoter. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim will become invalid.

7.3 The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

8. Data Protection and Publicity

8.1 Personal information will only be used in accordance with the Data Protection Act, the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 and other applicable data privacy laws. See above for information regarding announcement of winners.

9. General

9.1 By entering the Competition you agree that your name and Artwork will be displayed on the Love Basingstoke website (LoveBasingstoke.co.uk), Love Basingstoke social media pages and in any other media and can be used for promotional purposes. Love Basingstoke reserves the right to publish the names and Artwork of the winners for promotional purposes, subject to compliance with Data Protection Legislation.

9.2 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter at its sole discretion, reserves the right to exclude you from participating in the Competition.

9.3 The Promoter reserves the right to suspend, amend or cancel the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
