A yearly celebration of action across the borough to address climate change and protect nature.
Basingstoke Green Week is organised by community groups and organisations, and the council helps to promote and coordinate events during the week. Keep checking back for details of events:
Saturday 7 June
Green Week stage outside M&S in Festival Place from 11am to 3pm includes shows by Junk Jodie with Tree-Tastic, ‘The Magic of Recycling’ with Becky the Bin-tastic Magician, Eco-themed music from Apple of My Eye and House of Ra’s recycled fashion show.
Green Market in The Malls from 9am to 5.30pm
Activities for all ages about how to save money and the planet From 12.30pm to 2pm in the Discovery Centre in Festival Place, Basingstoke town centre
Get items fixed for free at a repair cafe
Hatch Warren Repair Cafe – from 10.30am to 1pm at Hatch Warren Community Centre, Basingstoke RG22 4XF
St Mary Bourne Repair Cafe – from 10am to 12 noon at George Inn Pub, St Mary Bourne

Wednesday 11 June
Join Natural Basingstoke and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council's nature lovers and experts as we take you on a guided butterfly walk. Places are limited, book here.
Thursday 12 June
Learn how to repair and upcycle furniture with The Community Furniture Project. A workshop to show you how to put life back into old furniture. To book your place, call 01256 320 700.

Dawn chorus bird walk with Wilder Bramley
5am at Clift Meadow, Minchens Lane, Bramley, RG26 5BH
Hear the birds waking up then walk across some of the fields to hear the later morning birds. Following the walk there is an opportunity to go to The Barns Cafe in Bramley (8am) for breakfast. Lead by RSPB expert Peter Hutchins.
First day of Overton Green Weekend (Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June). Head over to Overton to get involved in Sustainable Overton’s Green Weekend with a clothes swap, live performances, rock painting and more.

Second day of Overton Green Weekend
Go on a free guided tour of a local orchard - 12 noon to 4.30pm at Northdown Orchard, South Litchfield RG25 3PB
Throughout the week
Free woodchips for your garden
Collections every day from 10am to 4pm at Stratton Park Car Park, Pack Lane, Basingstoke RG22 5HN. Fill your bags or containers with free wood chips for your garden, while stocks last.
Find out if you could get your items repaired for free
11am to 2pm each day from Monday 9 June to Friday 13 June upstairs in Festival Place, Basingstoke town centre. If you would love to find out if an item you own could be brought back to its former glory, then pop into the Makerspace Repair Cafe in Festival Place
