Philharmonia Orchestra at The Anvil
The Anvil, Basingstoke
Wednesday 30 September
7.30pm
The concert includes Tchaikovsky’s full-blooded romantic Fantasy Overture: Romeo and Juliet, one of his best works, Grieg’s Piano Concerto, the perfect balance of drama and lyricism, from its famous opening flourish through the passionate slow movement to the vigorous ‘peasant dance’ finale, and finally Beethoven’s fifth symphony with its most recognisable opening in music.
The pianist is Lukas Sternath, and the conductor Delyana Lazarova.
