Proforca Theatre Company presents Flashbang

The Haymarket, Basingstoke
Friday 1 May 2026
7.30pm

noun: flashbang a grenade that produces a bright flash and a loud noise so as to stun or disorient people without causing serious injury; a stun grenade.

Flashbang, at The Haymarket on Friday 1 May, is a fast-paced, new play about friendship, memory and the moments that change everything.

Set in a town ‘twenty miles from anywhere important’, Ryan and his gang were going to be mates forever. Living their lives in the same cycle as everyone else in a little town. Living for the next night out. Living for the weekend. Getting into and out of trouble. Work. Pub. Sleep. Repeat.

They'd seen it all, done it all, lived it all. The nights they wished they could remember and the mornings after they’d rather forget... but then came the night when everything changed.

Written with humour, warmth and honesty, the play reflects the lived experience of growing up in small towns, capturing the rhythms of friendship, identity and the pressure to hold everything together as life begins to move on.

Flashbang combines high-energy storytelling with emotional precision, creating a piece that is both immediate and deeply affecting.

Don’t miss this award-nominated rollercoaster ride through the ties that bind five best mates together and what happens to those friends when that world is blown apart.
