The Signalman
The Haymarket, Basingstoke
Thursday 9-Saturday 11 November
Rumpus Theatre Company returns to The Haymarket with the spine-chilling play The Signalman from Thursday 9 to Saturday 11 November.
Who is the faceless figure by the tunnel warning the haunted signalman?
In this eerie version of Charles Dickens’ Victorian ghost story, a terrified signalman unburdens himself to the young student who chances upon his railway cutting. He tells a chilling tale of the spectre that haunts him and the terrible disasters that follow each appearance.
But what horror is the ghost trying to warn of this time? And is the young man's visit as innocent as it first appears?
From the mysterious opening to the dramatic close, this classic and complex ghost story is an evening of old-fashioned spooky fun. The gripping tale is told with excellent lighting and effects.
Tickets are priced at £24, £22 (Sat 2pm). Under 25s and f/t students £15 (includes £4 booking fee). Group and school tickets available. The performance is suitable for ages 12 and over.
