Will Gregory's Moog Ensemble with Britten Sinfonia
The Anvil
Wednesday 9 October 2024
8pm
Tickets are priced at £42, £35, and £28. Under 25s and f/t students £12 (includes £4 booking fee)
Lovingly restored analogue synthesisers (nothing else sounds the same) bring classic tracks and soundtracks back in all their glory, from the original Dr Who theme to Wendy Carlos' Switched-On Bach, and Vangelis’ Chariots of Fire theme to the score of Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange. Groundbreaking orchestra the Britten Sinfonia bring their own skills to the mix including music by the permanently unconventional Charles Ives, while Will Gregory celebrates in music the genius of Archimedes with 'stand-up mathematician' and YouTube sensation, Matt Parker.
Gregory’s 10-piece Moog Ensemble features illustrious musicians from Portishead, Florence and the Machine, and composer Graham Fitkin – each bringing their distinctive musicianship to the retro-futurist world of fizzing, funky synths.
Like nothing else you will see or hear this year, and with only three performances in the country, don’t miss this chance to see a truly memorable performance.
