The Top of the Town is the historic heart of Basingstoke town centre and home to the Willis Museum, The Haymarket as well as restaurants, pubs, smaller and independent shops. It features a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays and a Market Place that is used for events like the Basingstoke Festival and street entertainment.

It can be easily reached from the train station and there are a range of surface car parks.
