Sarah Longthorpe
Sarah has held the post of Director of Regeneration at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council for just over a year.
Experienced in place making and regeneration with a solid foundation of land and property skills gained over 20+ years of working in a Local Authority Environment, Sarah also has experience of joint ventures and has created regeneration and housing focused Local Authority Trading Companies to commercialise services and meet ever increasing service needs in a more creative way.
Sarah has a background in contract and leisure management and earlier in her career managed the commercial property and contract interests at Bournemouth seafront.
Over her career she has developed a pipeline of exciting, complex, regeneration and commercial property projects, most recently for a community focused Towns Fund regeneration programme and negotiating and acquiring a prime waterfront build to rent residential scheme in Poole.
A year into post Sarah remains committed to maximising opportunities and driving forward the Council’s ambition for regeneration across the borough and states our ‘Invest in happiness’ slogan must have rubbed off on her as she can honestly say she has not been happier since she made the move to work at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council!
Sarah lives in the New Forest with her husband, New Forest pony and very vocal Bengal cat.
