Low waste sustainable shopping in Basingstoke and the surrounding areas

We've put together a handy list of local businesses that offer ways to help you to reduce or minimise your carbon footprint and promote sustainable living.

Heart and Compass

Heart and Compass stocks refill toiletries and cleaning products along with cleaning accessories. They offer free delivery to the RG21 and RG29 postcodes.

Triple O Packaging Top-Up

You can often find Triple O Packaging Top-Up at the Portsmouth Arms weekly market, Top of The Town market or at the Silchester Village or Kingsclere markets. Visit their Facebook page to see where they will be. They stock cleaning and body care products as well as cooking oils and Jericho coffee beans from Brazil.

The Boundary Shop and Cafe

If you are based near St Mary Bourne, The Boundary Shop and Cafe has an eco area where you can buy every day food items such as flour, pasta, grains and pulses without the plastic packaging and you can buy exactly what you need. Along with food items, the eco shop also offers household cleaning products.

Nappies

If you have a baby or toddler, another way to reduce waste is to look at reusable nappies.

The Overton Nappy Library hires reusable nappies to families in Overton and surrounding villages and towns. They will also help you find the right kit for your baby. They also have reusable wipes to hire, with or without a nappy kit.

The Basingstoke Real Nappy Library is a service for parents in and around Basingstoke to hire, trial and learn more about reusable nappies. Visit their Facebook page to find out more.

Happy browsing!
