Exit 6 Film Festival

Exit 6 is an award-winning international short film festival hosted annually, right here in Basingstoke. The festival is a celebration of independent cinema for both film-makers and lovers, showcasing short films and their makers from all over the world.

This year’s festival takes place on Saturday 23 September with screenings at Vue cinema in Festival Place and a networking event at Dice Tower in the Top of the Town. More than just a film festival, Exit 6 is a dynamic hub for networking, learning, and creative collaboration. The line-up includes interactive workshops, enlightening masterclasses, engaging Q&A sessions, and an inspiring awards ceremony that honours the cinematic brilliance of the filmmakers.

Movie magic arrives in Basingstoke!

To accompany the film festival, Love Basingstoke will be in the town centre on Saturday 23 September 2023 with some free movie-themed fun for one day only.

Movie cars from 10am to 4pm

See movie cars in real life and take a photo next to them:

• Flintstones car in The Malls Shopping Centre
• Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters in Festival Square, Festival Place
• Mutt Cutts from Dumb and Dumber in London Street

360 photobooth in London Street from 12noon to 4pm

Strut your stuff on the red carpet then pose for a video in this 360-degree open air photobooth. Send yourself the video and share with friends.

Pearl and Deanie walkabout in the Top of the Town from 1pm to 5pm

Retired old-school cinema usherettes, Pearl and Deanie will be walking around in search of the next Hollywood superstar.
