The borough through business windows
No two business window views are the same. From bustling town centres to peaceful rural corners, each location offers a unique perspective. We invited local businesses to share the views from their windows, giving you a glimpse of the borough’s beauty through their eyes and to inspire you to explore your place of work.
Basingstoke town centre
We decided to kick off the campaign by sharing the view from the Basingstoke Biz team’s window, here at the council. We look over the amazing War Memorial Park. The picture we share shows the Peace Garden and the rest of the park behind. It’s lovely to see the seasonal changes as well as the events that set up in the park. From other office windows we can see Goldings, home to the Register Office, and the Triumphal Gates at the Top of the Town.
Outside of the town
Just outside of town based at The Manor House, Lutyens Close is Reality HR, who sent us an image of the garden they look over.
“From our office at The Manor House, we’re lucky enough to enjoy a classic English view through beautiful old leaded windows. We look out onto sloping lawns and mature trees, a peaceful garden that’s remained unchanged for decades. It’s a setting that brings a sense of calm to even the most fast-paced days. What makes it even more special is knowing we're working in a building with such heritage. The Manor House itself carries a rich history, built between 1900 and 1903 by Mr Walter Hoare, a brewer and member of the Hoare banking family. Later on, it became home to Daneshill School until 1974. During that time, the grounds were used for sports and play, and while a few school facilities were added, the open green spaces were largely left untouched, something we’re still grateful for today. The team at Reality HR feel lucky that the setting of our offices naturally encourages us to have a quick catch-up over coffee in the garden or a team meeting under the trees.”
Rural Basingstoke and Deane
Whilst many would think of the borough as being just the town there is so much more to see. Morse Webb Architects sent us this view from their office window in Bramley.
Whilst Silchester Farm sent us the image below and said: “From our office window at Silchester Farm, the view is never the same twice. Across the seasons we watch the landscape transform – from blossom in spring to golden fields in summer, rich autumn colours and crisp winter skies. The historic Hampshire Threshing Barn, our romantic outdoor ceremony space, and the magnificent millennium oak tree all sit in sight, a daily reminder of the beauty and history at the heart of the farm.”
Next time you look up and out the window, take a breather and really think about the view you are looking at. If you feel like sharing it with us send us a picture to business@lovebasingstoke.co.uk.
