Much beloved ScratchBuilt x Proteus Christmas show is back! A magical and immersive theatrical experience where our youngest audience members and their families will be the heart of the story! This has been a record breaking year for the Christmas show with more shows than we have ever put on in a run! Out of a whopping 38 shows, all but 2 have sold out before we have even opened. Because of this, we have added an extra show at 11am on Tuesday 13th December. This show will be ideal for parents and carers of pre-school age  children 0-4 years.

This Christmas, Proteus presents a new show, The Christmas Switch. A heart-warming family story made by resident creatives, ScratchBuilt Productions. This gently interactive show encourages children to explore, play, create and interact with the enchanting surroundings and colourful characters that they meet along the way and is a perfect ‘first theatre’ experience!
This year, our festive tale needs needs your help! Someone has accidentally switched off the Christmas switch and now there is no more magic! The problem is, no-one quite knows where the switch is hidden, but without magic, how will the elves make sure everything is ready in time for Christmas day? The elves need your help. Join us on a festive adventure where your family are at the heart of the story and help us make sure the Christmas switch is turned back on.

Our yearly Christmas show, created in partnership with Scratchbuilt Productions, is a magical and immersive theatre experience. Audiences travel around the Creation Space arts centre with the story, each room transformed into an enchanting Christmassy scene, full of wonder. A guaranteed memory-making theatre experience for the whole family.

As always, the show features Scratchbuilt’s trademark mix of interactive storytelling, exquisitely handcrafted set design and beautiful (and funny!) puppetry, music and sensory elements, all with a generous dusting of Christmas magic, (the perfect festive treat for both younger audiences and the young-at-heart)! For the past 7 years, Scratchbuilt in association with Proteus have created an immersive Christmas experience for younger children and their families; transforming their home at the Creation Space into an enchanted festive walk-through adventure.
