Business Spotlight: Wylder Wellbeing

Wylder Wellbeing opened it’s flagship spa, and second location, in Wootton St Lawrence in October 2025, building on the success of its boutique spa in Mattingley, where it had been based for four and a half years.

Founded by Holly, Wylder is a wellbeing brand offering luxury spa and beauty treatments, alongside carefully curated products, all designed to help people prioritise their wellbeing in a welcoming countryside setting.

The business began as Wisteria Beautique, operating from a treatment room in Holly's home while she balanced it with a full-time job. After taking the leap into self-employment, the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily halted trading and led Holly to work on a local farm.

"That experience completely changed my perspective and made me fall in love with the countryside, being around animals and feeling connected to nature," says Holly.

Finding the right location to grow

When restrictions lifted, Holly returned with a new vision centred on holistic wellbeing, nature and creating a space where people could truly be themselves. Holly spent over a year searching for a countryside location that would allow the business to expand, build a team and welcome more clients.

That opportunity came at Money's Farm in Mattingley, where the business established itself and spent the next four and a half years growing its customer base and reputation.

As the business evolved, so did its identity. Wisteria Beautique rebranded as Wylder Wellbeing, and has since grown from from just Holly to a team of eight, with its Wootton St Lawrence spa now serving as its larger flagship dry spa.

Becoming part of the local business community

Reflecting on the area's business community, Holly says:

"There are so many amazing independent businesses in and around Basingstoke, and there's a real sense of community between us. We genuinely support one another, collaborate where we can and celebrate each other's successes."

Wylder Wellbeing has embraced those connections through partnerships and community involvement including collaborations with Oakley Hall Hotel and sponsorship of the Basingstoke Bison, helping to champion wellbeing across the borough.

Building something special

Along the way, Wylder Wellbeing has received recognition through award wins and global spa award nominations. However, Holly believes the biggest achievement has been building a loyal community of customers who continue to support the business.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the wonderful community of people who choose Wylder and appreciate the high standards and experience we strive to create. Their continued support keeps us busy and allows us to keep growing, and we genuinely couldn’t be more grateful for every person who walks through our doors.”

Wylder Wellbeing's story demonstrates how businesses can successfully start small, adapt through challenges and find the space to grow in Basingstoke and Deane.
