August Adventures at Brighton Hill Park

August Adventures comes to an end on Wednesday 26 August in Brighton Hill Park. Visitors can try graffiti workshops, drumming sessions, and skateboard coaching, or take part in disc golf. The day will also feature the much-loved Junk Jodie with her show Rainbow-LICIOUS and some craft activities. Decorate your own notebook or make a wooden spoon character with Artful Kids and Pop Up Play Village are back for some role play fun.

What to expect at August Adventures

We've designed this guide to help families, carers and young people decide which August Adventures activities are right for them. Each venue is different, so we've included information about access, facilities, terrain and what to expect at Brighton Hill Park.

Quick Facts

Wheelchair/buggy access: good access with paths.

Terrain: activities take place on grass

Parking: ASDA - we suggest you check for any time restrictions.

Toilets: ASDA. 

Seating: there are benches throughout the park, you are welcome to bring picnic blankets or fold up chairs to sit on. 

Quiet space: there is no dedicated quiet space at the event but you are able to step away from activities if you wish and find a quieter area of the park. You or your children are welcome to wear ear defenders. 

Food/drink: you can purchase food and drink from Café Dome or ASDA.  You are welcome to bring your own snacks or a picnic. You will find bins around the park or alternatively please take your litter home.

What to expect

• The event features outdoor activities in a public park so dress for the weather.

• Families are welcome to stay for as much or as little of the session as they wish.

• Craft activities can be messy, we suggest your children are dressed in appropriate clothes. Aprons will be provided for the Graffiti workshop.

• Drums are played with hands and can be loud.

• Drumming workshops run every half an hour. The sessions don’t need to be booked but you may have to wait.

• Timed tokens will be handed out for Graffiti workshops on the day so groups of five or six people can participate at a time. This may mean you need to come back to this activity.

• There are two performances of Rainbow-LICIOUS at 11am and 1pm.

• All other activities are drop in. We expect the event to be busy so you may have to wait.

• Safety equipment will be provided for the Skateboard coaching  and Scooter and your child will be required to wear it to take part. This activity requires an element of risk, please ensure you are happy with this before your child takes part.

• All activities require adult supervision, we ask you to stay with your children.
