August Adventures in Russell Howard Park

Love Basingstoke’s August Adventures will be at Russell Howard Park on Tuesday 18 August, Russell Howard Park. Activities include:

• Fencing with the Little Musketeers in a fun, safe and engaging way, using specially designed foam and plastic equipment.

• Pop Up Play Village role play fun in a café, ice cream shop and construction site. 

• Louise Hight with Doodle Birds of Peace.

• The Love Basingstoke team will be on hand with Puzzling fun – expect a selection of jigsaw puzzles, wordsearches and code breaking.

• We’ll also have lots of traditional games to hav. go at including 9-hole crazy golf, gorilla golf putt challenge, high striker, soft archery, splat the rat, and giant Quoilts. 

No need to book just turn up and enjoy the fun.

What to expect at August Adventures

We've designed this guide to help families, carers and young people decide which August Adventures activities are right for them. Each venue is different, so we've included information about access, facilities, terrain and what to expect on the day.

Quick Facts

Wheelchair/buggy access: good access to the field.

Terrain: activities take place on grass

Parking: public carpark on St Andrews Road, next to the field.

Seating: there are benches throughout the park, you are welcome to bring picnic blankets or fold up chairs to sit on.

Quiet space: there is no dedicated quiet space at the event but you are able to step away from activities if you wish and find a quieter area of the park. You or your children are welcome to wear ear defenders.

Food/drink: You are welcome to bring your own snacks or a picnic. You will find bins around the park or alternatively please take your litter home.

What to expect

• The event features outdoor activities in a public park so dress for the weather.

• Families are welcome to stay for as much or as little of the session as they wish.

• Craft activities can be messy, we suggest your children are dressed in appropriate clothes.

• Fencing workshops are 10 minutes long so you may have to wait for the current group to finish. All other activities are drop in. We expect the event to be busy so you may have to wait to participate.

• All activities require adult supervision, we ask you to stay with your children.
