Basingstoke town centre
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has partnered with AccessAble who provide accessibility guides for over 200 venues in the borough. These guides include arriving at Basingstoke train and bus station, getting to Festival Place and getting to the Top of the Town to enjoy The Willis Museum and the Sainsbury Gallery.
If you require assistance getting into Basingstoke town centre, Dial-a-Ride is a door-to-door service available for anyone who finds it difficult to use ordinary buses. Offering a town service seven days a week and a rural service from Kingsclere/Bramley, Tadley and Overton on set days into Basingstoke town centre or Asda/Sainsburys at Kempshott. To register and make a booking, call 01256 462101.
Another service available is Basingstoke Shopmobility who are based at the lower end of Church Street in Basingstoke town centre. Shopmobility is a national scheme to support people with restricted mobility, whether temporary or otherwise. You can hire powered scooters, electrical and manual wheelchairs and stroller/walking frames. As part of the hire you will receive relevant training. Basingstoke Shopmobility is accessible by car with its own car park, train, bus and by Dial-a-Ride. Contact via phone or e-mail to make your booking. Did you know you can also book in advance with Basingstoke Shopmobility to arrange hire of mobility aids for events taking place in Basingstoke town centre, Eastrop Park or War Memorial Park?
The Basingstoke and District Disability Forum provides a signposting service which is a free information service supporting anyone affected by disability. The signpost service covers a wide range of topics related to disability including transport, benefits and education activities.
