Basingstoke Leisure Park
A 60-acre site where the council as the freehold owner is spearheading a transformation to rejuvenate the park’s leisure offer underpinned by wider masterplan.
Substantial investment underway in Basingstoke Leisure Park:
- The council has committed to replace the aging Aquadrome with a modern leisure centre due to open in 2029.
- Planet Ice, a 2,000-seat multi-purpose ice arena, is undergoing extensive refurbishment and is due to reopen late Autumn 2025
- Milestones, a living history museum, is considering expansion plans to strengthen its multi-generational offer and increase overall visitor numbers.
- The US based leisure operator, Great Wolf Resorts, is proposing to construct a new 500 room hotel resort with indoor waterpark next door to the Basingstoke Leisure Park. Subject to planning permission, this would attract over 400,000 visitors a year to Basingstoke as well as create over 600 new full-time jobs.
The council is looking for:
- Leisure operators with active leisure uses that are accessible to the wider public.
- Operators who will invest to build-out their own premises.
