This would represent an expansion of the Manydown Garden Community promoted by the landowners through the emerging local plan process. It would be one of the most significant strategic development opportunities in the region. This site at Basingstoke West provides a unique opportunity to create an exceptional mixed-use development within 700 hectares of well-planned, sustainable net zero carbon communities of around 2,400 new homes in the period up to 2041, and more beyond. In addition to housing, a new health campus and a range of employment uses may also be accommodated close to junction 7 of the M3 and the A30. The health campus will include a new specialist hospital alongside other services and research facilities allowing mutual cooperation and innovation, creating a high-quality new gateway to Basingstoke.
